Appraisal Committee -- To monitor and evaluate any activities in the State of Ohio pertaining to appraisals or appraisers. It also reviews all pertinent legislation applying to the appraisal industry.

Auction Forum -- To address the expanding use of auctions to market and sell real estate. It is the committee's responsibility to advise and consent on legislative positions, deal with marketing issues and other liaison-related issues with the real estate brokerage community.

Business Technology Forum -- To increase member awareness and understanding of how technology may be utilized in various aspects of real estate business activities. To allow members to share and seek information and learn of technological applications which serve the needs of brokers as well as salespersons.

Commercial/Industrial Committee -- Members debate and discuss issues of importance to commercial/industrial REALTORS. They update REALTORS on issues facing the REALTOR who derives the majority of their income from the sale or leasing of commercial/industrial and income producing real estate.

Communications Committee -- To promote the term REALTOR, the professional expertise of REALTORS and the Ohio Association of REALTORS in all ways possible, particularly to Local Boards and members. To encourage Local Board involvement in state and national public relations programs. To encourage member and Board involvement in community housing and development programs. To allow members to share experiences and learn of opportunities to become active in fostering, conducting and promoting such programs for the benefit of their communities.

Economic Issues & Trends Forum -- The goal is to increase member awareness and understanding of economic issues and trends affecting the real estate industry. The Forum allows participants to share and receive information through presentations and discussions.

Enlarged Legislative Committee -- To maintain contact with state elected officials which assists the Association in the support or opposition of legislation on behalf of REALTORS and private property owners in Ohio. The committee discusses legislation being considered in the Ohio House and Senate. Encourages REALTORS to take an active role in the political process at the state and local levels through numerous political participation programs designed to promote or oppose candidates or issues.

Equal Opportunity Diversity Committee -- Has an ongoing mission to be the primary source of creative strategies to encourage and assist member Boards and REALTORS in eliminating barriers to fair housing and diversified communities. With a focus on partnering outside the REALTOR circle, is committed to dispelling intolerance among real estate practitioners and in the general public through issue-specific communication and education.

Housing Needs Forum -- The Affordable Housing Forum reports to the Executive Committee. Its purpose is to facilitate discussion, awareness and understanding of affordable housing issues and to provide a vehicle through which participants can share and seek information relevant to those issues.

Legal Issues Forum -- To increase awareness and understanding on the part of Board leaders and the general membership of legal issues relevant to the Association and the real estate business. Allows members to share and seek information of a legal nature and offer suggestions on how the Association may provide assistance.

Local Government Forum -- Fosters discussion and creates greater awareness of issues affecting real estate involving local units of government, including cities, counties and townships. Allows members to share and seek information on local government trends and discuss local programs.

Mediators' Forum -- The Mediators' Forum is to: 1) stimulate interest in mediation as the strategy-of-choice for resolving monetary disputes between (among) real estate professionals; 2) introduce members to its "win-win" benefits through creative local promotions; and 3) enhance mediators' applied skills by sharing tactical tips and techniques.

MLS Forum -- The goal is to facilitate discussion, awareness and understanding of MLS-related issues. The Forum provides an interactive setting in which participants can share and seek information relevant to those who manage or participate in a Multiple Listing Service.

Political Activity & RPAC Fundraising Committee -- This committee encourages members to be active participants in the RPAC campaign and in grassroots political participation through various programs. Assists their Local Boards in determining what candidates should receive RPAC funds and educate members on the importance of RPAC. Also, implements communications network teams through the Local Boards. These network teams contacts their Congressman/woman, U.S. Senator, and state legislator when an issue is being faced at the state or federal level which has a positive or negative affect on the real estate industry. They communicate the REALTOR position on issues when necessary.

Professional Development Committee -- Formulates and recommends policies and programs designed to meet the educational needs of members. The scope of the committee's involvement shall include state educational requirements and related programs offered by the Association, the Ohio REALTORS Institute, specialized training programs, instructor development, cooperative programs with Local Boards and other activities relevant to real estate education in Ohio.

Professional Development Forum -- Facilitates discussion, awareness and understanding by Board leaders and the general membership of educational programs and activities offered by the association and other providers in Ohio. Allows participants to share and seek information, offer suggestions to other participants and the Association and generally assist in identifying the educational needs of real estate professionals.

Professional Standards Forum -- This forum facilitates discussion, awareness and understanding of professional standards-related issues. The Forum provides a vehicle through which participants can share and seek information relevant to those who administer or participate as a volunteer in enforcement of the Code of Ethics or Arbitration and Mediation services.

Residential Property Management & Investment Forum -- The objective of the forum is to provide opportunities for members who engage in property management activities to share information on practices, procedures and applicable Ohio law that will contribute to a higher level of competency and professionalism in this area of specialization. The format of the forum may include guest speakers, open discussion or roundtables on specific issues.

Resort & Second Home Forum -- Facilitates discussion and awareness, as well as share information on the challenges and opportunities in the Resort/Second Home market.

Scholarship Committee -- To select scholarship recipients and determine the available amount for awards from the Ohio REALTORS Charitable and Educational Foundation and forward that information to the Scholarship Trustees. It also explains the purpose and scope of the Foundation. To interview students for scholarship grants at the request of The Ohio State University and suggest amounts available.

Young Professionals Network -- The Network's purpose is to cultivate the next generation of REALTOR Association leaders. It ensures that the organization's interests, as well as committees, are well representated among all age group and experience levels. The Network will work to establish local chapters within OAR's nine districts with the help of District Vice Presidents and Board leaders.
